Fairmont Mountainside Golf Club

6,522 Yards, Par 72, Rating 71.1, Slope 123

Three hours from Calgary, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains is the world-famous Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in the BC Rockies. People have been coming here for years to relax in the natural hot springs of this luxurious resort.

With three golf courses to play - Mountainside, Riverside, and Creekside, Fairmont is well known for great golf. The beautiful Mountainside course winds its way along the mountainside and through evergreen forests in the classic links style.

The most famous (or infamous) of these holes is the aptly named "Fairmonster." At 600 yards, this par 5 is the place where most monster hitters try to show the course who the boss is. Unfortunately, this titanic hole has a secret that the aspiring John Dalys do not know: power is not the key to success on this hole.

Go for two solid woods and make your move with a long iron to the green on your third shot. Unless you are Tiger Woods, you are going to require three shots to reach the green, so keep them under control. This is very rational advice of course. Rational thought can sometimes be quite boring though, so if restrained golf is not your thing, then disregard the previous bit of advice. Rip the driver out of your bag, tee your favorite DT nice and high, and see if you can knock the dimples to the other side of the ball. With the high mountain air and a friendly fairway, you just may hit your career drive.

With the choice of three tee boxes, golfers of all levels will find the challenge to feed their game, but with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains from nearly every hole, golfers will find something much harder to come by at the Fairmont Mountainside Golf Club: scenery to feed the soul. This summer take your golf vacation with BC Golf Vacations.

Riverside Course: 18 Holes, Par 71
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort's Riverside Golf Course offers 6,507 yards of inviting fairways and perfectly manicured greens. Multiple tee settings and relatively level fairways make Riverside a pleasure for all levels of player, while tremendous variety in length and terrain tests the versatility of expert golfers. Renowned for its superb putting surfaces and course conditions, Riverside is widely hailed as a superb walking course with spectacular mountain and river views.

Creekside Course: 9 Holes, Par 27
Creekside delivers nine holes of Par 3 challenge on unique fairways featuring ponds, cascading creeks and sand bunkers. Creekside is perfect for players of all abilities – even seasoned golfers who need a little practice around the green.
